A plain-language explanation of how VancouverCanyon uses cookies and local storage.
Last updated: May 22, 2026. Effective date: May 22, 2026.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information from one page load to the next or from one visit to the next. VancouverCanyon uses a minimal set of cookies and local-storage entries to operate the platform correctly.
We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural profiling, or cross-site tracking. Our cookie use is limited to functional requirements — keeping the experience coherent within your session and respecting your preferences between visits.
Session cookie: vc_age_ok — Stored in sessionStorage. Set when you confirm the age gate. Expires automatically when you close your browser tab or browser. Purpose: prevents the age-gate from reappearing on every page load during the same session. Does not persist across sessions.
Preference cookie: vc_ck — Stored in localStorage. Set when you acknowledge the cookie banner. Persists until you clear browser data manually. Purpose: suppresses the cookie banner on subsequent visits. Contains no personal data — only the value “1” indicating acknowledgement.
No third-party cookies are set by VancouverCanyon. We do not load advertising scripts, social-media widgets, or cross-site analytics. The Google Fonts API is used to load display and body fonts — Google’s own privacy policy governs any data they collect from that request, though no identifying data is sent by us.
VancouverCanyon loads Bootstrap 5.3.3 CSS from the jsDelivr content delivery network. This is a static file request — no cookies are set by jsDelivr, and no personal data is transmitted. The CDN request carries your IP address to jsDelivr’s servers as a normal part of HTTP, which is governed by jsDelivr’s privacy policy.
You may clear cookies and local-storage data at any time through your browser’s privacy settings. The specific steps depend on your browser: in Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data; in Firefox, go to Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data; in Safari, go to Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
Disabling or clearing vc_age_ok will cause the age gate to reappear. Clearing vc_ck will cause the cookie banner to reappear on your next visit. Neither action affects the game itself — the cluster cascade continues to function without any persistent storage.
You may also use browser extensions such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger to block any tracking, although VancouverCanyon does not set tracking cookies that these tools would normally block.
If we add new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this policy and revise the “Last updated” date. We will post a visible notice on the platform homepage for 30 days following any material change. For questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
